What is Organic?
We want certain foods to be safe from harmful residue or additives, which is why our team of personal chefs seeks out products that have been grown without preservatives, synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, sewage sludge, radiation, or genetically engineered. If we want to prepare the best healthy meals for our clients, we prefer to use foods that are “clean” a.k.a. organic.
The USDA organic standards are also very stringent and are, in part, the reason these products are more expensive. Farmers must abide by numerous regulations in order to be certified and the overall care for the food is far more superior. For example, every step of the growth cycle is taken into account: the plant, the soil, the farmer, the air, the water, and us, the eaters. Being eco-friendly costs a bit more, but isn’t it worth it?
Is Eating Organic Better for You?
While we’d love to say, “100%, yes, organic is better!”, no food is protected from food-borne illnesses, such as Salmonella or E. Coli. Even still, we believe people can improve their health and possibly live longer by eating clean, whole foods. This means more produce and less processed foods, which is why so many of our clients come to The Focused Fork in the first place! It’s hard to shop and prep and cook like this all the time (we get it!).

Are there any Negatives to Eating Organic?
Of course. Depending on the distance between farms and grocery stores, organic foods aren’t always accessible. Additionally, they tend to get a bad rap for having too short of a shelf-life, especially for the cost.

We can get everything fresh, prepare our foods in a commercial kitchen, and deliver meals at the start of each week.
